Come on by
The Green Man Theater tonight!
September 12, 14, 15, & 16
at 8:00pm
Screening Paul Wegener's 1920 silent thriller "Der Golem".
Closed Wednesday and Sunday.

Spectral encounters in a genuinely haunted theater!
Poltergeisten, things that go bump in the night, and other odd goings-on. All of these we have experienced since renovating and moving into this 120-year-old church in the heart of Atchison, Kansas.
Care to investigate for yourself?
You can rent the Green Man Theater for an overnight stay, and perhaps experience some of the things that your humble servant and his cats have seen and heard. We welcome groups of two to six people, at $100 a person for an overnight stay from 7:00 PM to 9:00 AM. Bring your comfy clothes, sleeping bags, pillows, air mattresses and any snackies and non-alcoholic beverages that you'd like. To reserve a night, contact the theater at cprokopp1@gmail.com or at (520) 977-0306. Please copy the email address
Bear in mind that we're on good terms with our ghosts, and ask that guests refrain from bringing Ouija boards, attempting seances or cleansings/exorcisms! Don't want to offend the long-term residents. I'm the one who lives with them!
And as this is a working theater and my home...please don't smoke.

When I first started work two years ago, turning a 120 year old church into this theater, I quickly became aware of something. Even when there was no other person in here with me, other than cats...I was not alone. I'd felt that before, in a few other place: the house in my home town where my family lived, my college dormitory, certain friends' homes. The certainty that there was someone else in the room with me.
Being wiser than humans to "other things", my cats always spend quite a bit of time staring into the darkness at the top of the stairway, following unseen people around the old building, commenting in Cat to one another about these people and their activities.
Then there's the matter of things not staying where they're supposed to stay: tools, books, dishes...things that I set down for a moment to deal with another thing, and are gone when I get back to them. Or the square-cut old fashioned iron nails, four inches long, that keep popping up here and there from nowhere that I have found.
So...I have long-term, permanent residents here at the Green Man Theater. Want to meet them?
Very shortly, you'll have that chance. Sensitives, investigators, anyone intrigued by the sort of amiable entities that share my theater, I'll be opening my business for an hour or two or even overnight.
I'm setting up the fees and details at the moment.
Keep watching…
